Crater lake was originated by the collapse of a volcano, thousands of years ago. The crater was then filled by rain water. Some 200 years ago a short eruption created the island which is called wizard island. There is a boat tour but at 12 am the tours were sold out!

We reached crater lake after 9 pm, the lodge was near the entrance and there was almost no artificial light:) mr wilson was kind enough to give us 2 giant sized cans of veggie soup. With some loafs of bread and some fruits we did a light yet funny dinner:) i saw a falling star and made a wish. the morning after the park seemed much less gloomy:)
